Mt Seymour Parking Lot Saturday and Sunday Morning

Signup cutoff: December 17, 2014
Cost: $178.50* with tax (regularly $220 plus GST)
Group Size: 8**
*If the snowpack is less than ideal, students will be required to purchase a backcountry access pass for Whistler ($55.65) for the second day only. It shouldn't be an issue by this time, though.
** If there is enough interest, we can set up a second or even a third group of 8 Per group.
I. Itinerary/ Requirements
The 2 day AST-1 course will be hosted up at Mount Seymour, and participants must be intermediate to advanced skiers/ boarders. participants are required to bring their own avalanche gear which can be rented from MEC for $25 for the entire weekend. Backcountry skis (AT or Telemarking) or a split board with skins are required (skis/ skins can be rented from MEC also). Snowboarders can also join using snowshoes; however, please indicate in the response. Participants are responsible for their own transportation, and must bring enough food/ water and clothing to be outside for the entire day.
Groups will meet at Mount Seymour (start time to be determined) for both days; however, if the snowpack is less than ideal, the second day will be held up at Whistler. In the event the second day must be held at Whistler, participants will be required to purchase a Backountry Access Pass ($55.65).
II. Registration
Upon signing up you will be added to the waiting list. Once on the wait list, you will have the opportunity to pay for the course. Once you have paid for the course, you will be added to the confirmed list. Please note, priority is given to members who pay first.
Please also note that the signup/ payment cutoff is December 17. In the event we do not have eight confirmed (and paid for participants) the course will be cancelled. Once the trip list has been confirmed on December 17, I cannot guarantee that we will be able to refund you in the event you must cancel.
