An early summer hike into the subalpine of Flora Pass. Depending on snow conditions and participants, we may continue on to Flora Peak. Elevation gain to Flora Pass 1150 m (3450 ft). Flora Peak another 200 m (600 ft)
The trail starts out as a good quality switch-backing trail and will likely hit snow before the pass at 1740 m, although the open south-facing slopes below the pass may be more open. On June 8th, I was at Garibaldi Lake and there was about a metre of snow at 1475 m.
Sturdy boots and poles or ice axe are recommended.
We'll meet at the Boundary Chevron at 7 am and leave by 7:10 am. Assuming we start hiking by 9:30 - 10 am, we should be back at the trailhead by about 5 - 5:30 pm. Sunset is 9:15 pm.
