A late summer ascent of Stoyoma Mtn , right at the northern tip of the North Cascades. Stoyoma Mtn is the highest peak in the Coquihalla, and is a popular hike (103 hikes #84).
Day 1: Drive up to Stoyoma Mountain trailhead via Meritt, climb Stoyoma (~5 hour round trip)
Should just be a hike, but be prepared for cold weather.
IMPORANT: Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to return to Vancouver Saturday night and will not be able to stay around to climb Mt. Hewitt Bostock. It is rarely climbed, but is reportedly a nice ridge hike from the Stoyoma area and I had figured we may as well climb it too if we're going to drive all the way in to the area. If a group of participants wants to organize themselves to camp Saturday night and try and do Mt. Hewitt Bostock on the Sunday, that is a possibility. If you're interested, please post on the planning forum.
