Welcome to ski touring!!  Join this backcountry trip to Gin Peak to try ski touring for the first time, or if you're new to the sport and want to learn more.

Meeting Place: St David's United Church Parking Lot, 1525 Taylor Way, West Vancouver (We'll carpool from hear with as few vehicles as possible).

Meeting Time: March 22nd at 7:00am (Yup, it's early!  Please be on time...or you might get left behind)

Required Equipment:

• backcountry touring skis or splitboard
• ski touring boots (appropriate for your bindings)
• climbing skins (check they fit your skis)
• ski poles with powder baskets (not those small downhill style)
• daypack (25-30L recommended)
• collapsable shovel
• avalanche probe
• avalanche beacon
• winter clothing and layers (dress lightly for skinning uphill and warmer for the descent)
• toques and extra gloves
• eye wear (sunglasses or ski goggles) and sunscreen
• food and water
