Bastion Peak (2210 m) is about 25 km east of Pemberton.

We tried this route last fall and got to about 300 meters below the summit before turning back due to rain and the late hour.  This is a bushwack (but it really isn’t too bad). Despite the modest statistics (elevation gain ~1900 meters, distance 12 kilometers), I expect it will be a long day (12+ hours).  I don’t think there will be any tricky climbing or scrambling, but really don’t know since there is very little info available about Bastion.

Gear = ice axe, crampons, helmet, snow shoes, headlight, + some extra food and warm clothes.

Cancellation/confirmation :  If the weather is bleak I will probably cancel.  I will make the decision by Thursday noon.  Please let me know if you plan to come as soon as possible.   If anyone wants to bail for any reason, no problem, just let me know by Friday.
