Please sign up through BCMC website for confirmation of this trip.  If you wish to bring non-members with you, please ask them to register as a BCMC Guest member online so they can join the trip from their account.

Top roping and/or lead climbing in Squamish. Most often we go to the Smoke Bluffs, but depending on group size and experience we sometimes go to other local crags instead. We can also pair up climbers for Multi Pitching; if you are interested, let me know in advance. 

All participants must bring the basic personal climbing gear of harness, belay device, locking biner, climbing shoes and helmet. Also highly recommended is a prussic for rappelling, daisy chain, lunch, water, and snacks.

Ropes & anchor material for this event are provided by participants and not by the club. If you have a full strength climbing rope and anchor material, please do bring it. Also bring your lead rack, slings and QDs if you plan on leading.

While the more experienced climbers are usually happy to share their knowledge, this is not a climbing course. Every participant must be able to belay and is expected to have some top roping experience (indoors or outdoors).  If you are *new* to rock climbing, please email or phone to let me know what experience you have... thank you :-) 

We will *leave* the church parking lot at *10:00 AM*... please arrive 10 minutes early.  St David's Church is located near Hwy 1 and Taylor Way in West Vancouver.  We will aim to return to the church by 6 pm... let me know at the meetup place if you wish to return earlier.

Cancellation due to weather: - I will check a few online weather forecast sites 24hrs before the meetup time. If the "common" forecast of probability for precipitation in the Squamish area is 40% or more then the trip will be cancelled.  You can expect an email notifying you of the cancellation... but if in doubt you can email the organizer.

Please update your BCMC Account Profile with your emergency contact information. To do that you have to login on the website, click the "My account" button at top right, then click on "edit profile information", then select the "private information" tab and enter your emergency contact information -- this info will stay in your profile and is made available to a trip organizer automatically -- it saves time at the meeting point.
