NOT A COURSE
AGENDA: fundamental alpine knots, placing snow/rock anchors, belay systems (hip, boot-ax, off-harness, redirect), importance of fall factor, climbing in pairs, rappelling off snow anchors, climbing, down-climbing, traversing steep alpine snow/ice/rock, hauling systems 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, rope communication, emergency response, prussic-in up the rope.
Skills Required: MUST HAVE PREVIOUS BELAY/RAPPEL/ANCHORS TRAINING . Must have completed at least one PD ice/snow route from Alpine Select List.
Personal Gear: half 8mm 60m rope (or else), snow/ice alpine climbing set (incl. helmet, climbing harness, ice tools (hammer+adze), 2+ ice screws, snow pickets (1 short 1 long with runners attached), crampons (any type), rock pro/minimal rack (if you have), rappel material, ascenders (ti block, jumar), personal emergency kit, headlamp, etc.
