Trip Description

A slightly quirky trip, with a marine component:  for all you folks who want to get out for a hike but need a destination that makes sense in this dark interim weather.   We will meet at the public dock at Horseshoe Bay, catch the scheduled morning water taxi to the east side of Gambier Island, and wander up to the 2000 foot summit of Mount Artaban where we will take in the reputedly gorgeous vista (an old Forest Service tower lookout) before returning to catch the scheduled afternoon water-taxi back to Horseshoe Bay.

Water-taxi cost: 25$ each way.  Dogs OK.

To be permitted to board, you must make reservations with Mercury Launch and Tug (604) 921.7451 a minimum of one hour before boat departure (though they would prefer longer notice if you can give it).

I hope you will consider coming out to join this trip!
