I've been wanting to do this trip for a couple of years now. The trick is to time it well (before the bible camp opens up and cuts off access to the trailead) and to arrange for kayak rentals.
The plan is to rent kayaks from MEC (great if you have your own), drive them to Porteau Cove and set off early in the morning. For this reason we might need to camp at the Porteau Cove campground - to be determined closer to the trip date.
The crossing should take less then an hour and then we're off to the Leading Pk summit, an elevation gain of 755m.
We will aim to return back to Porteau Cove around 4pm before the afternoon winds start blowing down Howe Sound.
