While I'm sure the more experienced climbers will be happy to share their knowledge, this is NOT a climbing course. Every participant must be able to belay and is expected to have some top roping experience (indoors or outdoors).

Toproping and/or lead climbing in the Smoke Bluffs area - we'll select crag(s) depending on the level and interest of participants, and what's available.

Meet at St. David's United Church, Taylor Way and HWY 1 in West Vancouver,  Sat. October 24 at 8.30 am  - leave 8.45 am

Leave Squamish around 6.00 pm. Home for dinner at 8 pm - or if you like, stay for a bevvy in Squamish.

• All participants must bring personal climbing gear (harness, belay device and locking biner, rock shoes, prussik, personal anchor [i.e.: daisy chain])
• Helmet mandatory
• ROPES & ANCHOR material for this event are provided by participants and not by the club. If you have a full strength climbing rope and anchor material, please do bring it.

Let me know:

1. What grade do you lead? What grade do you follow?

2. Are you solid in anchor building?

3. If worst comes to worst..can you lead a rope team of two, three climbers? (we might spread out a bit, depending on what crags are available)

I will be making the decision on the weather Friday night, not Saturday morning. If it looks iffy Friday night, I will cancel the trip (via email).
