The SW Ridge of Hollyburn provides a more enjoyable ski ascent and descent than following the standard snowshoe trail.  Starting in between the cross-country and downhill ski areas, it ascends in a reasonably direct manner straight to the summit, and the ski down to the car is nearly entirely fall-line skiing.

We will meet at the parking area at 10:15, so with a total round trip time of roughly 3 to 3.5 hours, we should be back at the cars by 2 (it's a short day).

Directions to parking: Drive up Cypress Mountain road towards downhill area.  Park on left at first parking area encountered after passing the road to cross-country ski area, just past an obvious ravine on the right (see picture for photo from parking area a couple weeks ago).

• All participants must be a competent skiier or boarder
• Participants must have taken AST-1 (or equivalent)
• Participants must have a Probe, Beacon, and Shovel and know how to use them
