Trip Description

Climbing in the Harrison Bluffs.

Trip organizer has never been there so it'll be a bit of a surprise.  The Mountain Project lists several routes, some are top-ropeable; grades seem to be in the 5.9 - 5.10 range.  This is not a beginners course.  No instruction will be provided.

Meeting time and location will be emailed to participants on Friday night/Saturday morning.  I will try to arrange the meeting location near a skytrain for bus-dependent climbers.  Sign up by Friday 9 pm.

Gear:

  • personal climbing gear (harness, belay device and locking biner, rock shoes, prussik, personal anchor [i.e.: daisy chain])
  • helmet is mandatory; trip organizer has never been to the area so cannot comment on rock quality
  • ropes and anchoring material for this event are provided by participants and not by the club. If you have a full strength climbing rope and anchor material, please bring it.
  • bring your trad gear if you have it
  • (if you like to boulder, bring your pad, looks like some good bouldering; let me know if you are)

Let me know:

1. What grade can you climb?

2. Can you lead?  If yes, sport grade level/trad grade level?

3. Are you solid in anchor building?

4. If you have a car, are you willing to carpool?  Including yourself, how many people can you take?

5. Have you climbed here before?  Do you have a guidebook or such?  The Mountain Project has some stuff but existing knowledge would be great!

Trip is weather premitting; forecast looks good for Agassiz for Sunday.
