Basic avalanche safety course organized in cooperation with Canada West Mountains School and their guides and suitable for anyone looking for a solid foundation of avalanche safety.

The AST-1 course is conducted over 2 days (day 1 - Mt Seymour, day 2 - Whistler backcountry) and includes:

* 16 hours of instruction
* CAA approved curriculum for AST-1 course
* "Avaluator" avalanche decision-making tool
* Avalanche manual
* Use of beacon, shovel and probe
* CAA Industry-recognized Certificate of completion
