This trip will be for 3-6 people. Hopefully the timing of this trip will coincide with a nice firm stable snow pack just heading into pre-spring conditions (solid, firm, crevasses filled, ridge well covered, etc). Anyone interested in joining this trip must commit to the training days on March 5th, March 26/27, and April 9/10 unless they have more extensive alpine experience than I do [not that hard to achieve more than me :) ]... we can determine that on the March 5th training which everyone must attend. The plan will be to climb Atwell Peak from Elfin Lakes/Diamond Head, drop under the east face, gain the col between Atwell and Garibaldi, and climb to Atwell's summit via the North Ridge. Anyone interested in joining must have a least a reasonable amount of experience... this would mean that you have been to the top of a couple of the locals such as Baker, Garibaldi, Edge, Matier, Joffre, Skypilot, Habrich, Alpha, etc.. You will also be well enough equipped (and familiar with that equipment) to be able to survive the usual dangers that may be encountered. Three weekends will be allotted for summit attempts; I ask that people try to have all three weekends available so that we have the option to try again if we do not succeed our first time. If required the second attempt will be April 29/30/May 1st, and if required the third attempt would be May 6/7/8th. Hopefully the 2nd and 3rd attempts will not be required :)
